Family meal day was a real treat. There was a brie wheel ,unopened, left from my grandson's non bachelor party. I bought apricot preserves to put on top of the cheese,wrapped it in puff pastry , baked it and we have a new
favorite for breakfast. Defrosting my fridge worked . I was worried that I might have to replace the fridge, so I was much relieved when the thermometer
showed 35 degrees. I finally got around to scrubbing the cabinet that my son made for me as an outdoor unit. At first, when it was winter, I stored food that I couldn't fit in my fridge. Then when it warmed up, I stored my gardening supplies and grass seed
in it. The grass seed was a big mistake. Rats loved it. I needed to really clean the cabinet so I could use it again for my garden things. It is drying now , but I will never put food in it again, no matter how scrubbed it is. We are getting so many humming
birds. I planted a lot of flowering plants called hot lips, and some red geraniums. The hot lips are mostly red with white tips. The plants, plus the umbrella on our garden table that is orangey red makes those hummingbirds go crazy. I think every community
has a local news source on the internet called " Next Door". Someone wrote that they aren't seeing hummingbirds. I know why. They are all here.
