ON THE BACK BURNER

When you live in a compound where two of the major people are detailed oriented people, who have an artist eye for symmetry and perfection... if your project is a little off, you feel guilty and you rip. Again. More than once. I finally finished the sling for the free wooden frame that I picked up at a yard sale. I finished the project three times. This time for good. All of this time, I never actually sat in the chair. I was afraid that I would either fall to the ground, a distance of a few inches, or not be able to get up. Falling to the ground was pretty accurate because when even a light weight sat in it, the fabric relaxed and your butt was pretty close to the ground. That is why I finished so  many times. Now it is taunt enough and  I will take my chances and sit in it.  I have a little tidying up to do with weaving in the ends of the yarn, but for all practical reasons , it is finished. The free pile at yard sales just call out to me. Maybe I should wear ear plugs.
