ON THE BACK BURNER

Dixie got groomed today . Now she is exhausted. And fatter than I thought. I have tried for months to get her groomed and her name finally made it to the top of the list. She had the undivided attention of the groomer for 2 hours. Just Dixie and the groomer. Dixie loved it, I was told. She looks completely different without the three year growth of hair that she had . I don't think that she likes the way that she smells. She tried rolling in the grass when I took her for her walk. But I appreciate the new scent .We had one dog, the late , great Wally, who was a mix of Shepard, collie and chow, who refused to be seen in public after a hair cut. Because Wally seem to get heat spots, we once or twice had to shear him down to fuzz to try and treat his sores.  He hated how he looked. We could tell. Noodle got the most grooming. He was the fairest dog that we ever had, white coat and pink skin. Even though Noodle being deaf and blind, loved being handled and puppy massages made him very happy. He loved the human touch and those massages.Dixie is passed out on the couch with a pillow over her head and a blanket on the rest of her. I will have to carry her to bed. She's such a baby.
