Who asked for a rainy , dreary, chilly weekend when it is time to celebrate the 4 th of July. We had to take our family meal indoors to my sons' studio. We almost needed the wood stove ,but we
persevered with jackets and hats. Dixie wore her orange sweat shirt and got carried there so she would stay dry. Several weeks ago, I made a pot of oatmeal for our family meal and froze what I had leftover. This week, I made muffins from the cooked, frozen
oatmeal . They were pretty good and I feel so thrifty. My GiL made a fantastic quiche. I am not that fond of eggy cheesy dishes and this was spot on for me... mostly potatoes. I ate a left over for my dinner.
. I wanted to celebrate summer(? ) so I bought a few ears of corn. Bob and I had many a discussion about how to eat corn on the cob. He was an across the ear, like a typewriter. I went round and round. Tonight I tried both ways, just for old times sake. Somehow,
back and forth didn't feel right. I am a round about lady, I guess.
