ON THE BACK BURNER

I am planning a train  trip. I love train travel. I never get tired of the swaying of the train or the views. I am a very good sitter, so a train trip is easy for me. Bob and I had done a few long distance trips, getting a bedroom so we could shower and sleep . We found a couple of narrow gauge trains out west and got to ride those, too. I use to travel with 3 kids, from Chicago to New Orleans.. coach . Why or how I did that escapes me now, but I did. It was on the City of New Orleans train, that child number 3 lost her pacifier. I had wanted it gone before the ride, but she was reluctant to give it up. It just disappeared on the train, and that actually was not planned. It dropped out of her mouth and I couldn't find it. If I had found it, I would have blown on it to sanitize it and put it back in her mouth. That is what you did with multiple kids. When we got to N.O. I put my hand in my coat pocket and it was in there. I did not give it to her and she has done quite well in life, without it. I am going to travel from Seattle to Los Angeles and back. It is a 35 hour trip. The trip is supposed to be especially beautiful along the coast line of  California. I have no desire to sight see in LA, so I will spend a night in a hotel and catch the reverse train. I have a list of snacks that I want to bring, plus a list of what to bring, like my charger, a blanket and flip flops. I have watched dozens of You Tubers show their videos of their travels. I am stoked about going. I will tell Dixie just before I leave. And dogs are allowed on the train for any trip that is less than 7 hours. I didn't know that.I am not telling  that to Dixie, either.
