I just went with my grandson's girl friend to a tavern to play bingo and eat a baked potato. It's something the " locals" do on Wednesday night. You play 10 games, two
cards each game. The winner goes up to a long table and has a choice of gifts. Some of the gifts were: a batch of home made peanut butter brownies, several super size ( think Costco) boxes of cold cereal , a package of socks, a huge jar of dill pickles. I
didn't win anything, but my grandson's girl friend chose a box of cereal. When she brought me home, I gave her a quart of milk to go with the cereal. The baked potato weighed at least a lb. You got it with a tray of condiments. Actually, it was really good.
What a fun way to spend an evening. Everyone was nice to us, it was just a nice , comfortable evening. I think we are beginning to feel local.
