I have packed, repacked, and repacked. It is so much simpler to travel by car.You throw everything into a duffle bag and never expect to see it again. I am determined to pack in one 40 liter back back. I will only be gone
a week. My environment will be cold, maybe muddy, surrounded by people who hike, get sweaty and put the same clothes back on the next day. So how hard should it be to pack .you pack more socks than underwear. blisters on a hike are devastating. Dirty underwear,
no one cares. I tried out packing cubes. they do organize and make everything really neat. I plan to try them in my drawers. Then I went to compression bags. Except that I don't have any, so I am using
gallon size zip bags. This seems the best approach. I had plenty of room in my back pack either way,and of course the weight is the same, but the distribution on my back seems better. So I will go with
compression. Now that is done, I am ready for girls week out.
