My grandson brought me some veggies, ready to be planted. Romaine and Bibb lettuce. They look so cute ,standing in two rows in my garden. I am waiting to plant cucumbers and dill. Then it will be pickle time. Last year, I
found the perfect recipe that tastes just like Bubbe's Pickles, which sell for $10 a jar here iN PT. That is an obscene price for a jar of pickles. Today , my son and I went for Chicago hot dogs. I treat
him to lunch when I need a refill on my propane tanks. He has to lift them off of their stand and then put them back on. Lunch is part of the deal. Two days in a row, I have eaten Chicago style food. The Chicago hot dog has no ketchup. It is the beef hot dog, onion, tomato,
pickle, cucumber and that green, green relish and mustard. Yellow mustard.Sometimes , if it is really special, you get celery salt. Even the price of these hot dogs has gone up. Yesterday, our two Italian
beef sandwiches, one order of fries, a beer on tap and a Coke, cost $50, not including tip. The hot dogs were $5.75 a dog. That's a lot of money for an Italian beef and a hot dog. Even if
they taste like home.
