ON THE BACK BURNER

Today was one of those days that you get every now and then.  It started off in splendor. The view from my hill when I walked Dixie this morning was the stuff that poets write about. I saw a pink sky with the Cascade mountain range in silhouette  . In front of that ,the trees ,then the bay, then my side of the bay, more trees and then my road. It was down hill from that point. Dixie's  eye was still closed, so I had to see a Vet. My Vet had no appointments, but he has another office in Chimmicum  where I have been before. No problem. I put the information in my Wyze, scrapped ice off of the windshield and started out . I got lost. This is the second time that Wyze, even though I put the exact address in the cell phone, took me to the right town, wrong Vet office. The last time, I managed to find the office. This time I went in exactly the wrong direction . After a phone call , I got turned around  and found my way to the Vet. Miss Dixie Cup has an ulcer on her eye. I have some meds and she is a good patient. After I  brought her home, I went to the grocery for the ingredients for  a red bean and rice dinner I am having for some of the kids Thursday. It's  for those who eat the secret ingredient in N.O.red beans and rice. My Grandma would not approve ! When I got back to the car in the grocery lot, I couldn't find my car keys. I finally emptied my pockets and my purse.. they were hidden in one of the many zippered pockets of my purse. And did I say that my pipes froze over night. ? There is electric heating tape on the water pump but under the trailer, it is exposed. It was just enough to freeze. By noon and I had returned from the grocery, everything was working. Every one needs a day like today. Just  let everything  pile up and get it over with. I' m good now.
