ON THE BACK BURNER

When we had our cottage in Michigan, we all spent a number of hours, each day, just sitting on the deck, looking out at the lake. We joked that we were really good at sitting. Now that I am back in Venice, I am continuing the practice of sitting .This time  I look at a golf course, but I am happy to say, that I haven't lost my skill. The truth is that even before Covid curtailed most of my social activities, Bob and I sat , a lot, and looked out at the golf course. Surprisingly, the time  does fly by. Maybe because I am in my own bubble, these two years haven't seemed so long. I've missed special people, special activities, but still the days, then months just scrunched into each other. It's my black hole. I remember how I felt when I became aware of the virus, and I know how I feel now that as I look forward to maybe having an active life again. What happened in between ?
