ON THE BACK BURNER

Day 4 ,rain. If I time it right, Dixie gets her walk between showers. The ground is still absorbing the rain fall. Everything was so thirsty that if you dig down an inch, it's dry. I went around the yard looking for damage and I  found  some. Where the deer were trampling through, now there are moles digging up mounds of soft dirt. We had moles at our cottage that would burrow through our rock garden. For some reason they didn't bother me. But these moles must be larger because they actually moved some of my rocks. I'm not sure that I want to meet one . They must be pretty muscular. My son says that they turn over the soil,so he doesn't have the same thought process as me, it seems. I'm advocating birth control for the deer and a one way ticket to some place else for the moles. The bunnies can stay.
