As much rain as you are probably getting in Venice, is completely opposite of what we have going on here. It is crazy dry. There are
fire warnings posted all around town. The grass is yellow and when you step on it, it sorta crunches. So far, we haven't had any more days like those two 110 plus degree days. We belong to a farm co op and they are suffering with the dryness and the heat. Our
baskets are very skimpy. Last week ,I got one head of Romaine ,3 small cucumbers, and a Napa cabbage. As a consumer, so far, I haven't gotten my monies worth. I have to remind myself that I am getting home grown, locally grown, organic veggies. i have to remind
myself a lot . I am working on my beautification project ..the yard. My area around my pod is like a secret garden. I love walking onto my path and under a blooming tree and seeing my pod, with all of the flowers that I planted. Now, I am concentrating on
a long wooden fence . I bought Hot Lips salvia and some other family member of Salvia. And I am planning a section of tall grasses. I picked up most of the plants today and some compost. I will have to program myself to water every day for awhile. I did pull
all of my onions up. They actually look like onions and smell like onions. My first ever onions. Next year, I am going to plant more. I think that I planted only 9 and by the time that I share, that isn't very many onions left. Now I am waiting for my potatoes
to be ready .I am becoming a farmer. It's amazing.
