ON THE BACK BURNER

Port Townsend is a unique small town. They do march to their own music. Today was a legal holiday. July 4 th was  on a Sunday, so officially July 5 th was a bank and post office holiday, and any place else that gave the day off. The Community Center, where I exercise and play MahJongg, sent a text asking if we would like them to open the center for our activities. What public office texts the people who attend these activities to see if they want some one to come and open the building for them? You gotta love a town that does that. And everyone did came to exercise class and Mah Jongg. My shared car was on a road trip, so I was driving a station wagon with 190,000 miles on it. I don't know if it is a Subaru or a Volvo, but it got me from here to where I needed to go, and back home again. I was afraid that I would have spacial problems driving a car and not a mini, but I did fine. I never did find the lights and it was pretty foggy this morning. Then I tried the windshield wipers and turned on the back one. I didn't find the front wiper , either.  I never had to use a horn,  but I bet I wouldn't have found that either.
