Today lived up to its hype. It was dangerously hot. My son, who walks to work, came home early, with a beet red face. I have the only A C. in our compound, so he came here before even going into his house. This morning, we
were only 4 people out of a usual 12 at exercise class. There were 4 large fans, so we each got our own fan. My Mah Jongg game was cancelled, which made me unhappy, but I can surely understand. The people react here to the heat news, the same way we react
in Florida to approaching hurricanes. Everyone gets a little anxious. My AC is temperamental and now that I have it going, I hesitate to change anything. I also have several large fans going to keep Dixie
cool. I took Dixie for a very abbreviated walk. I also took the clippers with me because I wanted to clip some of the greenery that grows a foot a day, it seems. I did the best that I could, but Dixie really had to go back into the pod. I had to decide if
I was going to bake sandwich rolls today or break down and go to the store for bread. I decided to bake. Maybe not the best idea on the hottest day ever, here, but the buns do look so good cooling. And the pod smells great.
