The longest day of the year and we managed to hit 74 degrees. And we have about an 1/8th. of a fenced in area. One grandson and my son worked two days, off and on to dig
holes, pour concrete and set some posts. Next week end the other grandson and my son will do some more, digging, setting and pouring . We will definitely have a fence by the time next spring and THE wedding come. in the meantime, the deer are nibbling the tops
of my tomato plants and geraniums. Who knew that they like geraniums? Today was the first time, this year, that we watered the fruit trees. The trees aren't used this dry ,hot weather we are suddenly getting. Dixie, for being a southern gal, isn't as happy
about the new heat pattern as I thought she would be. Her afternoon walk was delayed because i thought that it was too hot for her. She had her tongue out and was panting.I don't like to stress her by overheating . She didn't complain when we only took as
shady a walk as I could find for her. I didn't either.
