When I talked about our resident Robin, I forgot to tell how she flew into a mirror and almost knocked herself out. I have a series of two privacy fences.. They are about 7 feet tall, painted in a washed, faded old fashioned
barn red color and placed so that you approach one ,have a walk way and then face the second one..and then you see what I think of as my secret garden. You don't see my pod at all until you pass through both fences and then you see greenery and plantings...
very special. Both fences have art work and found items that I have either found on the property or bought atGoodwill. Now , about the Robin. On the first fence that you come to, I have a bunch of different mirrors, different frames, different sizes. The Robin
flew into the mirror, seeing the trees reflected in, she thought, I guess, that she could just flew into it, thinking it was trees and open space. I felt terrible about her accident, but she seemed to be
OK after falling to the ground. What if I killed her and the babies were left alone. They would not survive. So the largest mirror came down. Now I have
it turned backwards , leaning against a tree. I looked up " stickers to keep birds from hitting windows" on Amazon and ordered a package. I didn't realize
that this Robin would become like a family member and that we all feel responsible for the bird family. I' ll be a nervous wreck when the little ones get their first flying lesson. maybe I won't watch.
