ON THE BACK BURNER

There are many good things to say about working hard and one of them has to be a good nights sleep. I mowed both front and back yards yesterday and I couldn't wait for it to be a decent time for a grown woman to go to sleep. In fact, I don't even remember turning off my light. Dixie goes to bed at 8. She'll do her whine or paw me and that is her signal that it is her bedtime. My bed is on a platform, too high for her to jump, so I literally put her to bed. She will stay there until morning when I lift her down, hours later. Even then, she isn't in a hurry to go out. I sometimes have two cups of leisurely coffee, before I take her out. I go to bed after I talk to my daughter in Israel. She is just waking up and having her first cup of coffee and I am waiting for the call and my going to bed. It's a great system for us. She knows that I will be home for the call. Another daughter that I talk to everyday calls me as she is driving home from work. This is sometimes hit or miss, because , especially now, as the weather is nicer, I am sometimes not with my cell phone. So now it is morning and I can look out and see the beautiful freshly mowed green grass. It's a good feeling to know that I made it look this way.
