ON THE BACK BURNER

Gross. That’s what I said to the surgeon when she showed me what she cut out  of me. Yucky. It was the size and looked like a fuzzy caterpillar, because the old stitches went with the tissue. I,of course, felt great for the first hour, but now I can feel the discomfort that goes with being cut and what ever else is done to stitch me back together. I’ll be as good as new after short rest.I actually went out today without  a hat. I can’t remember the last time that I did that. I gave up my gloves yesterday. Dixie didn’t wear a sweater at all. The plum trees are in flower and Bob’s apple tree is trying hard. The buds are showing promise, but I understand that apple trees are in no hurry to bloom. It was so clear today that I could see the snow peaks of the Cascade Mountains. I can often see the mountains, but this was particularly clear. And there was a lot of snow on those mountains. I am looking forward to all of us going on a camping trip, but a lot more snow has to melt before dixie and I are going to spend a couple of nights in the woods. I just got a shiver thinking about it. Maybe it was my leg telling me to listen to it and rest.
