The news of the day is that I had the second procedure of what could be part of a third procedure to have a melanoma
removed from the back of my calf. I am forever thankful to the receptionist who reminded me that I hadn’t had my full body check because I wasn’t in Venice in January , when I usually do it. I
would not have known that I had any thing brewing on my calf. Who looks at their calfs. I had made my appointment at my dermatologist because I had another thing-y that had been bothering me for months. That was easily burnt off , but the calf was a surprise
and needed to be biopsied. I got the results here in PT and the news was not happy. Thanks to my daughter in Israel and the internet, In two days from getting the original lab report, the proper Drs were set up and I had the melanoma excised. I am so relieved.
I feel great. Now to wait for this lab report and then ,if I got this right, I will probably have another procedure involving lymph nodes and a skin
graft. In the meantime, I can do anything that I want to do says the Doc. So the moral of this story is wear sun block and take a good look at yourself for mystery spots and see your dermatologist regularly.
Especially in Florida.
