ON THE BACK BURNER

The kind of day that we had today, will be what is normal for the next 6 weeks.Rain.sleet. Sun. Cold. damp. Muddy. Puddles. Did I leave anything out. Grey. This is the type of weather that I didn’t   like at our cottage in Michigan, when we would go for the spring break. That was for only a week. I was told that this would be typical until at least April. Since I am here to experience the full spectrum of whatever is coming my way, I am saying this now and forever after, I will only complain a little bit. I check the daily , hourly weather report, which seems to be pretty accurate and walk Dixie when it looks not so wet. Because she is pretty close to the ground, her sweater gets wet around her belly. I put her towel on the radiator so that when we get back from a walk, she gets a hot rub down. She does not complain. I don’t usually have anything so important to do that I can’t wait for the weather to change. I figured out the windshield wipers on the van, I know where the lights are, but I am a little confused with the defroster. But then, I have never figured it out either in my Venice van. I am a slow learner when it comes to things that make my car go. I mastered putting gas in . I don’t like to do it, for no particular reason, but I have no choice. I usually drive until I am on fumes and then I put gas in. I have had some close calls that have made people in the car very nervous. I never did that on my cross country trip. I filled up whenever I stopped . Even I didn’t want to be worried about finding a safe looking gas station. There was one state in which it was against state law to pump your own gas. I wish that I could remember which one it was because I would give them two thumbs up.I almost forgot, for some reason, and I have done this on my own, I can change a tire.
