24 hours ago there was 3 inches of snow on the ground. Today, all you see is wet sidewalk, not that we have a side walk, and green grass. I don’t know what Dixie and I will do when we get back to a city that has side
walks. Mostly, we walk on trails or in the middle of a street that is paved with beat up asphalt .Port Townsend has miles of bike lanes and that can be a problem , if you aren’t tuned in to bike lanes. When you make a turn, you have to be careful that
some biker hasn’t caught up with you and is now is even with you. I haven’t heard of any accidents, but I can see the potential. One really nice feature about being a walker is that cars actually stop for you ,if you are at the cross
walk. Sometimes , with Dixie sniffing a particularly pungent spot, at the corner, I have to tell the driver to keep going. Then ,there are times when Dixie just stops in the middle of the street. That is a little embarrassing.I don’t want to pull her
and I don’t want to pick her up. I use my words. I don’t think that I am being verbally abusive.
