ON THE BACK BURNER

For the first time that I have been here, I felt cold when I was walking Dixie. It was the wind. Hardly anything was showing on me, but the wind found that open area that was from the top of my face mask to where my hat met my hairline. This won’t last but a day or two, I am told. I keep the setting on the thermostat just touching 70. At night  , I set it to 60. I know it is cold when at night, the furnace kicks in. We kept a really cold house at night in our home. I don’t remember being uncomfortable. During the day, our Victorian house was so drafty , with hot and cold spots, that we just kept adding sweaters or taking off a layer. Funny, how now, I don’t remember being bothered by that. Being in Florida has spoiled me .I keep the condo cooler than I probably should. It is still a novelty to me to have a place that has a system that is pretty consistent in all rooms. Here in my trailer, with the thermostat set at just below that 70 mark, makes it so warm that I often have to go and lower the heat. I should probably just keep it set in one spot and take off my sweater,or one of my two shirts, or maybe change  out of flannel lined pants, or maybe take off these fuzzy socks and replace them with a lighter pair. No . Once I dress for the day, there is no turning back.
