ON THE BACK BURNER

As I was walking Dixie for her first walk of the day, these white small pellets came down from the sky. I guess it was snow. It wasn’t hail and it wasn’t beautiful snow flakes. I didn’t have to worry too much about it because by the time we turned to go back, it had stopped . Then the sun came out. I did do a few things around the “ house” today. I cleaned some windows that I could reach. There are not that many that I can reach. Then I moved furniture around. That is something that I have been missing. I only have three pieces of furniture that isn’t built in, so that wasn’t much of a challenge. I have a kitchen table and two chairs that are movable. I moved the table about two inches and put the chairs against the wall behind the table. I don’t sit in them , so they are just in the way. I eat either over the sink looking out into the yard or sitting on the couch with a view of the kitchen, the only door and  the window . Too far away to get the beautiful view, but I only eat on the couch at night and it is dark by that time and nothing to see, anyway. I don’t mind eating over the sink. I am close to everything that I might need. A glass of water, a paper  towel to use as a napkin, silverware if I need a extra knife or fork, the fridge and the stove. Then the sink is right there. From stove, to plate , to sink. Very efficient with movement. I know that eating over the sink is frowned upon,  but I have been setting a table and eating at a table for so many years, that standing over a sink eating makes me feel like I am breaking some rule made up by a person who never ate over the sink. It gives me a sense of freedom. I can eat anywhere that I want. So there.
