Some where I read that when you walk for exercise, just don’t walk, but try to be mindful of nature. That way, you get more out of your walk. I tried that today when I took Dixie for her afternoon walk. It works. I
saw the smallest birds just blending into the fallen leaves. I tried to notice bark and berries. I even met two humans walking their dogs. One of the dogs hates Dixie. I may have mentioned Alfie before.
He took an instant hate to Dixie from the day we took our first walk here in June. He bares his teeth and lunges. Alfie got along great with Noodle so we don’t understand this behavior. The other human dog walker,I also saw yesterday. Both of our pets
are unpredictable about being dog friendly, so we talked at a distance. Actually, our conversations revolve around our dogs and their quirky behaviors. Only other dog people understand this. You can start a conversation with a complete stranger, if you have
a dog with you. It works for me .
