ON THE BACK BURNER

It rained ,hard, all day, until it turned to snow. Snow in Port Townsend is an oddity. It was because of me. There is something about me that brings down snow. It snowed in Jerusalem when I was there with Bob. 6 inches. It hardly ever snows in Jerusalem. It hardly ever snows in Port Townsend. But it did, both places. Poor Dixie. I am not sure if she ever experienced snow. Going out in the rain traumatizes her, so snow is a double whammy. I wasn’t so happy about it either, but it is the winter Solstice and I read that there is a cosmic and spiritual significance to this date. So I will accept snow as a cleansing effect, the start of a new season. The truth is that I thought that it was already winter. It’s been cold in Port Townsend since I got here in June. This just happened to be a cooler than usual summer for them. And it extended into fall and now it is really winter. No matter , can spring be far behind. I can only hope.
