ON THE BACK BURNER

Port Townsend is often grey. The day can start out sunny and in a minute turn grey. Or it can start out grey and turn beautiful and sunny. To compensate , a lot of the houses are painted in striking colors  . Like my son and DiL’s. The front is periwinkle, orange and yellow. The back is a rainbow. As I walk Dixie ,I see a green house with lavender window trim. Or a brown house with orange trim. They are definitely not afraid of color combinations. Today, I came  out of the woods to see an evergreen tree with colorful Christmas ornaments on it. The tree isn’t in anyones yard, it is just near the trail in a wooded area. Makes you smile to see it, just being there. like it has a sense of humor. I haven’t been anywhere other than the grocery, which is right down our hill,so I can’t say that the houses are decorated for Christmas. I can see, in the distance, a few Christmas  lights, but not so many. I saw more Biden/Harris signs than Christmas decorations. Just saying.
