ON THE BACK BURNER

I ruined Dixie’s day. I left her for a few hours to get my groceries. It rained all day. She wouldn’t go out. I got annoyed with her for planting her 4 paws in the ground and refusing move. Or trying to get out of her harness to run back inside. This must be what the terrible two’s are like. If only she would use her words to tell me what she is feeling. Wait. She did. She whined and grunted at me. It’s not her, it must be me. She finally settled down and hopefully, this will be it for the night. It’s rained all day before,  but maybe I shouldn’t have gone out. One trauma a day will be my new approach for her. Today would have been the day that I left for Venice. Now I will try again for February. My thinking is by Christmas, the Covid count will have gone down and on the 25 th of December, it will start up again and by-waiting until Feb. ,it might be contained. I hope that the vaccine will be coming to Port Townsend by years end .I also wonder if I have to worry about not being a resident and still able to get the vaccine here. . I like to  have things to worry about . Speaking of worrying.. I am going to replace my van’s rear window. It is tinted black and it is impossible to see out of from the rear view mirror.I thought that would be expensive, but it isn’t . I like to think that being able to have full visibility when driving a 4,000 lb. vehicle is a good thing.
