If I want a veggie garden, I have to get down and dirty . I spent a while shoveling real manure from a huge pile
of it, hidden under a tarp. Then I had to push the wheel barrow to the enclosed veggie garden, opened the swinging gate, push the wheel barrow up a slight ridge and stop at my assigned row. I started out
shoveling the manure , walking to the end, throwing an inch of the stuff over the row, trying to get from one side of the row to the other. Then I went on using a small bucket . Even though I made more trips to the wheelbarrow, to fill the bucket,it was easier
on my back. As for the wheel barrow, I made at least 6 trips to refill it. I was not filling it up because then it would be too hard to push, so it took a little longer. Job done, got approval from the boss and went in to take a nap. Nothing hurts, but I am stiff.I figured this filling, pushing, dumping, raking was as good as a hard workout. Next, I get to do the same thing with leaves. That row that I have will be the best winter dressed vegetable row in PortTownsend.
My grandson came by while I was working, to bring me a little food present that he made and he was wearing flannel pj kind of pants in a jungle print. Dixie had on her jungle print sweater. They looked adorable. We had a great laugh over it. It was good to
break up the work load with a good laugh. Chicken liver mousse. That was good too.
