ON THE BACK BURNER

Well, my new second hand car is sitting in the driveway. I’ve owned it since Wednesday and it is still, sitting in the driveway.  I may be daring and go to the grocery store tomorrow. The Governor  is putting the state in lockdown Monday and  I am  not sure how that will affect me. I have  been ordering my groceries on line, picking them up at an assigned time. I sometimes do  run into the store at these times  for a last minute thing or two. I have a different mask that I wear for public places. When I am with family, I wear just a double fabric cloth mask. In public places I wear a super duper N95 heavy duty mask. Everyone here seems to be a mask wearer. The person who comes to put my order in the car wears a mask and keeps their distance from me when I get out of the car to check my order. Who ever is my personal shopper of the day, usually makes wise choices . I have a few misses that I just live with. You can request “ no substitutions”, or take a chance. Once I requested a certain wine, by name and I got a substitution. You can’t do that with wine, which made me think that my shopper had no idea about wines.Just because it is red, doesn’t mean it is interchangeable.. Another thing that I deal with , although it drives me crazy, is the produce in my order. If I ask for sweet potatoes, I  can get one that weighs 4 lbs. The same with onions. I didn’t realize that onions can grow so large. But it is a great service for someone who is  sheltering . And I hope that they keep it up for as long as I need this service.
