ON THE BACK BURNER

what an outstanding day ! My son drove me to Sequim( pronounced Squim). It was my day for the car and I loved having company. We did all of the things that we are bonded with as a family. Thrift store, Costco, Walmart. Could life be any better. And .... a hot dog at Costco. I would have liked their brisket sandwich that we have in Sarasota,  but only pizza and hot dogs at this Costco. $1.50 for a foot long  hot dog and a beverage. Since I offered to pay for lunch, even though he got two hot dogs, my son was a cheap date. There were no tables for sitting, so we had to go outside and find a bench. A little chilly for a picnic, but ai’m getting used to eating outdoors. The Thrift store was a little disappointing. Everything was polished and clean. Where is the adventure in that? The weather changed on our way home,it became blustery and grey. Did I say that Sequim is about 40 miles away. By the time we got back to Port Townsend, that wind was whipping up white caps in the bay. My awning banged against the trailer and I think some of the support poles actually scraped the sides. My son had to get on a ladder to secure the awning. That was pretty exciting for about 10 minutes.  Dixie was not happy while I was gone and my DiL took pity on her. She brought her to their house, which Dixie loves and took her for a walk. I’ll never be able to leave the house with a dog like this. Something happened in her early doghood that makes her very anxious . There might not be an app for that, but there sure are pills for that.
