ON THE BACK BURNER

I have this fancy head light that I wear when I walk Dixie in the early morning and when I let her out for her last emptying. I put it on today and the light was dim to non there at all. I pushed whatever could be pushed, I fliped it over, I couldn’t see where you could put in a battery. I was about to call my son and ask him to stop by and take a look. There had to be some place that the batteries were hiding and I was just not seeing where. Then I changed my mind set. Why could he find the batteries and not me. So I changed my thought process. Looked again and guess what. The batteries were not where you would think they would be. They were on the fancy head band.I felt really good that I didn’t have to act helpless( it wouldn’t have been an act), I could figure it out .I felt really good about  1. having AAA batteries in a drawer and 2. changing them out with the used ones. It’s these little victories that help make me feel  independent.
