ON THE BACK BURNER

I have a new book about planting a vegetable garden and in it, they give some hints. A hint that I tried today was to take a small tuna fish can and place it next to the planting area. When you are watering or it is raining, you can measure how much water fell. It is advised that the plants need an inch of water a week. Here,if you scratch the surface of the dirt ,it is dry, even if you think you watered enough. So ,today being part of a series of expected rainy days, I put out a tuna can. You’d think that there would be measurable water in the can after a day of off and on drizzly rain. Nope. Better luck next time  because we expect several days of rain. There is not much to do in a trailer when you can’t go any where. No drawers to clean and organize. I brought an iron with me,  but since I wear the same two outfits ,that isn’t needed. I did experiment with making a seeded nutritional bread. I don’t want to pay $5 a loaf of bread. Mine came out really tasty. Then I had to order a slicer gizmo on Amazon  so I can cut sandwich thickness bread. Since I have travel plans for coming home on my mind, I ordered a different travel crate for Dixie. The one I have is on wheels and that didn’t work so well. This one is purple and I carry it. That should make this diva dog happier.
