ON THE BACK BURNER

I finished painting a second flower this afternoon. It is not that easy. My son is a hard task master and I want him to say that it looks good. Isn’t it usually the kid that wants to please the parent ? The next flower is under discussion. My DiL suggests one color and my son is thinking another. I’m not doing anything until there is an agreement. I unplanted two bushes that I planted last year. They just failed to thrive. I cut it back and put them in a pail of water. If that doesn’t give them some spark, they are out. Some times, things just don’t work out.I have added bunny rabbits to my list of animals that I no longer look at kindly. What the deer didn’t eat, the bunnies finished. You would think that they would be afraid of a 10 foot golden elephant . Maybe they can’t see that high and have no idea that she is even there.Today, on  my afternoon walk with Dixie, a young deer froze just feet from us. It was so still that Dixie smelled something, but didn’t see it. no matter how cute, the deer is still a wild animal and I am just as happy that the two keep their distance.
