ON THE BACK BURNER

Still smokey. Not as intense.I am not sure how they measure the smoke, but we are at 300 and Portland is at 450. A slight rain fell, but that isn’t expected to do much for the smoke. I tried again to leave stuff at GoodWill and again they are not accepting donations. The workers are outdoors collecting from your car and the air quality is hazardous for them. We are not working on my flower painting because of air quality. This year has been so difficult. Mine and every one else’s plans are in limbo. When I was trying to drop off my stuff at GoodWill, I went inside ,just to have something constructive to do, as long as I was there. I saw a really nice sweater, perfect for Friday night services. Then ,I put it back. That was a depressing moment for me. The good news is that my Grandson ,who has been working the season in Alaska as a chef, will be back today. I won’t be able to hug him, or even elbow  bump until he quarantines, but that’s OK.  The bad news is that now that he is here, I have no wheels.  I can think of worse things, like Covid, fires, politics, and the upcoming flu season. Sorta puts things in perspective.
