Dixie had a bad day. She was like a terrible two toddler. Nothing made her happy. She complained all day. Pick me up, pick me up. It started even as the kids met in the yard for our Saturday breakfast. First, she didn’t
come outside. Unusual for her. Then when she did, she whined at my feet , wanting to jump on my lap.I hadn’t told her that she was getting groomed today, so what was her problem. When I brought her to be groomed, she jumped out of my arms and fell to the floor. Luckily, she just bounced and was up on her feet in a second. When I came to pick her up, an hour later, I could hear barking before I even made
it to the door. The groomer said that she was fine when they were grooming her and her grooming was just a bath and a nail clip. Nothing traumatizing. When I got her home, she was telling me that she needed
a walk, even though it was early for her usual afternoon walk. I took her and feed her, just as I usually do. Then my DiL and I started on the flower paintings on the trailer. Dixie kept whining and trying to jump up on me to be picked up. I finally gave her
some calming medicine to sooth her. Now, just like a baby who was over stimulated, she finally fell asleep.I hope when she wakes up she is her sweet self. Maybe it was the smoke from the fires that affected
her. Or the change in the weather. Poor baby.
