ON THE BACK BURNER

Some thing invaded my homestead . Two nights ago, Dixie Girl became my protector and started barking after we went to bed. I thought that she may have needed to go out, a first for her during the night. I put her leash on and took a flash light and we went out. Nothing. She didn’t pee and she didn’t find any thing. Last night, she carried on again. This time I knew she didn’t have to go out and I just let her bark. In the morning, I found out that she did, indeed, have a reason to bark. There was something strange on my deck. Nasty strange. Then some of my flowers had been trampled. My daughter in laws pile of enriched dirt, waiting to be used, was upset and there were large holes where some animal, probably a deer, had run across the pile. Whatever it was,it mowed down  a few plants that I now have to try and make stand upright. Next on the agenda.. a deer proof fence. Long overdue.
