More yard work today. I have divided the yard into sections. Mine is looking pretty good. The little delicate shoots of grass look very promising. The slugs only ate one plant and it wasn’t looking too good before they
found it. Now I am working on section 2. I found a metal pipe, a dandelion tool, a piece of treated wood and a few fat slugs. They are creepy bugs,or insects or whatever they are. I don’t want to
touch one, but I don’t want to hurt one , either. Maybe if they had a shell like a snail, I’d feel better about them. I understand that there are no poisonous snakes in Washington. That is good
because one was heating himself when I pulled back a tarp to get some amended dirt. He didn’t bother me as much as my accidentally touching the slug. My project on the second portion of the yard involves pulling and raking , raking again , and putting
the stuff I raked into a wheel barrow. I play this game where I leave the wheelbarrow where one of the kids can see it. It works, because someone carts it to the heap pile for me. I can balance the wheelbarrow, with its one wheel, but it is a challenge for
me to turn it over and have everything inside it tip out. I think if I were taller it would work better. Some things I just can’t change.
