ON THE BACK BURNER

I am wondering how the hours in a day can just fly by so quickly. I do get a lot done in my day,  but it amazes  ,considering that I hardly  leave my compound, that the hours have a way of moving from early walking of Dixie , to lunch, to dinner and then darkness and the day is over. That’s really a good thing,  because if I stopped to think about being almost a captive, I would probably get depressed. Today was misty, but only enough to get your rain coat damp. Dixie will go out in the mist. I attacked some more of the rye grass. It’s almost all gone.I hope that the plants that I ordered come this week. I have the area all ready for it. My son found a lighter weight lawnmower. I mowed today and it’s OK,  but I like the feel of the heavier mower. It was a nice thought, though. We are professional dumpster divers and he found this electric mower sitting at the curb with a take me sign. So he did. I made a couple of apple galettes for Shabbat. I used Granny Smith apples and they were extra tart. Maybe I should have used more sugar. I have a feeling that they’ll be gobbled up, sweet or tart.
