Today, I went to the Pacific Ocean.I have been to a sound, a bay and a cove, but today, I saw the grand daddy of all, the Atlantic Ocean. It looks just like Lake Michigan. That is a family joke. We took the four kids to visit
their Grandparents in Great Neck, Long Island, and as a treat, coming from the mid west, we got them all excited about going on a visit to see the Atlantic Ocean. Our youngest, 4 years old, took a look, turned his back to dig in the sand and said” it
looks like Lake Michigan”. So much for trying to impress him. But today, I had an outing to a beautiful property ,on a high cliff, that has a breath taking view of the Ocean. Just image the lucky people who live there. The property is part of a land
trust, so it can be sold, but not changed. That will keep it as beautiful as it is now. I was told that Dixie could come along and that was fine ,except for the short time that the owner came to visit with us , with her two dogs. Dixie is aggressive when I
have her on a leash. I think she feels as if I need protection. I can just pick her up and hold her in these situations. Sitting high on the cliff, we could see a container ship with a Chinese names on the side. We wondered what it brought into the states
and if it was going back empty. From where we were sitting , and it was a very clear day, we could see some buildings in Vancouver. To bad I can’t take the ferry and go there. I could see another
mountain range, but I can’t remember which one. I definitely need to get a good map. Maybe Amazon has just what I need.
