Since my dentist in Venice retired and since I may be in PortTownsend for awhile, I found a dentist here. A couple of things happened. His fees are lower than what I am accustomed to paying...I am a self payer, so that is
a plus. And ,he gave me a less expensive option for a problem that I have had, but didn’t act on. I consider this a win win appointment for me. And I didn’t have to parallel park.
I am a champion parallel parker. Bob taught me how to do this and I am really good at it. But now , I am using my grandson’s girl friend’s car, while they are working in Alaska. I can hardly see over the steering wheel and I am not that comfortable
with whatever is on my right side.I drive a mini van and I get a great view, on all sides of the van. I can park that baby any where. I can’t remember the last time that I drove a sedan. The loaner is automatic, thank goodness. One challenge for me is
to remember to put on and then release the parking brake ,when I park. I don’t think that I have ever used my brake in Venice. I would have to
think about where it is and how to release it. I do know that it is not where you would think it should be. That is sorta how it also is with my spare tire. We had the van for years before I found out where the tire was and it was a grandson who showed me.Fortunately
for me, Port Townsend is small enough that there isn’t much parallel parking. I’d have to drive until I found the perfect head first space. I can back up.But not in a straight line.
