I got my wish for Mother’s day. It rained. We are very dry here in Florida and I have been hoping for rain for a few days. Traditionally, we never put much emphasis
on celebrations like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandma’s day,etc. Our tradition was mostly to ignore those commercial days and just do what we always do. Bob and I made the mistake of going to Brunch on a Mother’s Day. I don’t
remember why we picked that date , maybe it was the only time our sitter was free, but it was awful. We still lived in our apartment in uptown Chicago. We didn’t have a car, so we stayed in the neighborhood. The restaurant was crowded with people taking
Mom out. At the restaurant I was given a wilted rose and that is all I remember. It must have been that bad . Come to think of it,one year we were invited
out for Thanksgiving and because I wasn’t doing any precooking, We decided to go out to dinner the night before. That was also a bad idea. By this time we were in our house in Evanston and we went to a local restaurant. We were the only people there.It
was a little uncomfortable. So now there are two times not to go out to eat. I’ll have to remember that.. Today I had a great day All the kids checked in as they have been doing mostly daily. We are all stuck in place, but healthy. We wonder how we don’t
run out of things to talk about , but we don’t. It’s all good.
