ON THE BACK BURNER

This is my last full night in Israel. It was a strange, different , stressful ,  but not a terrible experience. At camp, I worked hard and felt that i was actually helpful. At my daughter’s in Jerusalem, I went into lockdown and surprisingly, found that the days went quickly. We are a compatible family and get along really well, so that part was easy. Knowing that we had no choice but to stay in wasn’t that hard. my son in law was the designated go for and we were very comfortable. I read a lot ,played Solitaire, finished one knitting project, started another , wrote emails, waited for replies, watched movies, did a little cleaning, watched it rain a lot, including  hail this morning, had 4 shabbats, 4 havdalahs, watched my daughter in action getting me a flight out, folded clothes, napped, watched a video a Grandson made of his making Apocalypse risotto, brought up old family stories, laughed, ate. This is the longest that I have stayed indoors , Ever. It can be done, especially since I know that this is the only way to be safe from the virus and to keep my daughter safe. Now to get to Venice, via Tampa ,via JFK, via Tel Aviv. Fingers crossed.
