ON THE BACK BURNER

Kudos to my Israeli daughter who worked for two days to get me home without my having to pay a penalty . She talked to 5 different agents in three  different hemispheres . Including two who both spoke English, but one with a Pakistani accent and one who spoke English with a Hebrew accent. That is when my daughter stuck her fingers in her ears.  She spoke two languages in a conference call between El Al and Travelocity . What did we learn from this, except that I could never had done  it. We learned never to deal with anything but the airline. If something like coronavirus knocks everything upside down, you have to go through the outsource, like Travelocity. Then they have to get permission from the airline to make the change. My room mate at the camp had to pay an additional 1900$    to get herself home and she had purchased a first class ticket, round trip. She is still blowing steam and plans to get some of that money back after she recovers from a 40 hour trip from Tel Aviv to London to Arizona. I will be for ever indebted to my kid for having the patience and know how to do this. The only thing I didn’t like is that she kept saying “My 85 year old Mother has got to get back to her home. My 85 year old Mother is sitting right here, so do you want to talk to her, My 85 year old........... “. it helped because who wants an 85 year old woman on their conscious.
