ON THE BACK BURNER

Camp is over! I have a pin and a certificate to show for it. After flag raising this morning and the singing of Havtikva, we were dismissed to clean our quarters. Actually,I felt like I did it last time, so it would only be fair for someone else to do it. The traffic from camp to the central station in Tel Aviv took much longer than I anticipated. It was 9 AM rush traffic and we could have been on the Dan Ryan Expressway.I was on the bus with other campers, all 12 of us.We got to Tel Aviv where we were literally dropped. I am so bad with directions, that I just followed the sidewalk, when one of the more seasoned campers told me that there was my No.480 bus. Run for it. I made it and spent the next 1 plus hours driving toJerusalem. Here in israel, it is routine to say “ thank you” to the bus  driver. Everyone  on the bus did. He said “thank you” in return. Then I called my daughter, explained that I was next to Pizza Hut, what should I do?son in law to the rescue. he was there and I was in the right place. Another bus ride, vigorous hand washing, elbow bumps and finally...meat and chocolate. How good is that.
