Shabbat in Israel.Everything is shut down.At Shabbat dinner last night we had a wonderful dinner, with one other guest. It is traditional to serve fish, chicken or beef along with several salads, appetizers, soup and dessert.
I had everything from a squash / ginger soup , gravalox,olives, chicken, rice,red cabbage slaw and kohlrabi and carrot salad.And chocolate for dessert. you don’t overeat , even with this spread because everything is in smaller amounts. I’m going
to try this at home. Someday. The guest was an interesting lady, originally from Argentina under Peron. Then from Indiana, Michigan,Ohio,New York and Miami.Now an Israeli citizen. We decided that we were sisters from a different Mother. same size, ready for
adventure. Difference is that she married to get freedom from a rigid overprotective parents and her marriage ended in divorce years ago. My marriage was for love and all the right reasons and we were married for 65 years.
