I spent 2 hours on the phone, trying to put my daily New York Times on vacation hold. They had no record of my being
a subscriber. Someone has delivered my paper every morning. At Christmas I got a card from my carrier . I use automatic pay for my subscription . I know that I am a subscriber to the paper. 7 days a week of terrible ,stomach wrenching news. How can they say
that they don’t have me on their records. Employees follow a script and they just can’t deviate, I asked if maybe they could check with their local carrier here in Venice. No, they had to have me as a subscriber before they could do that. I finally
went on line, gave myself a password and did it electronically. I think it can be said that electronics have actually replaced the human.
