I didn’t mean to start the conversation, but we were both waiting to get our glasses adjusted and he did have on a Cub’s T shirt. We Cub fans are everywhere.
I’ve seen and heard them in Colorado, New York and even here in Venice. I used to pick them up on WGN America, no matter where I went. Maybe they no longer belong to an American owner, because I can’t
get them anymore. I really like baseball because the game, at least when the Cubs play, is so slow that you get your monies worth for the time spent at the ball park. If you are home, you can take a nap and wake up before the 8 th inning. we use to have a
mail lady in Evanston that had a cottage in Wisconsin. Her theory was that you put the game on in Chicago and by the rime it is over, she is at her cottage. The man I met getting our glasses adjusted was
really funny, without trying. He was extremely over weight so he was telling me that he gained 100 lbs over the last few years. He tried Jenny Craig but he ate all the food in Two days. He was hungry. He also complained that his glasses kept breaking and wonder
if it was because he fell asleep watching TV with them on. I was polite and didn’t laugh.He was serious.
