ON THE BACK BURNER

I’m keeping with my walking schedule in preparation for the 10 K I plan to do in Israel. The only problem and it is a biggie , is that Jerusalem is hilly and Venice is flat. My solution ,so that I can  at least do a few hill walking , is  to walk the bridge on the Legacy trail. I figure that if I can walk it both ways, that will be enough. As it is, I can’t ride my bike over it. I take  the low road or walk my bike over it. The day that I can  ride over it,will be news worthy. It’s good to have an overpass. They serve more than just getting over traffic. I have been on some very remarkable bridges. There was a time when I would close my eyes going over a bridge. That  stopped when I took over the driving. I have two favorite bridges. The Sunshine bridge and the Ponchartrain Bridge leading  into New Orleans. This one just skims the water and is at least 25 miles long. It also means that soon I will be in New Orleans. I don’t think about the return trip.I don’t even remember going the other direction. The Sunshine bridge is just so beautiful. Especially at night when it is illuminated.Around Christmas time ,the lights are red and green. It’s like a light show.Too bad I am always in a hurry when I go over it. I’m either going to the Tampa airport or coming back from the Tampa airport. Some day, I may just take a slow drive over it and not go any where.
