I wore my marigold colored rain jacket today when I walked Teddy..Wearing it brought back memories and a “what if” thought. Wearing this bright colored rain jacket, plus a talk at services Friday night that mentioned
David Duke, are all related. We had a condo in Gulfport, Mississippi, right on the beach, 90 miles from my sister in New Orleans and her family,my niece and nephews. I bought this LLBean jacket in this specific colored so that Bob could see me running on the
beach. He was anxious when he couldn’t be with me or see me. This marigold yellow jacket was a visual for him. You couldn’t miss me for a couple of miles. I was running on the beach and noticed a lot of pick up truck traffic with very large confederate
flags mounted on them. They seem to be stopping just ahead of where I would turn around for my return run. The attraction was David Duke . The crowd ,and I don’t usually label, were a bunch red neck guys .I was frightened. I ran back to our condo and
put the condo on the market. We decided to leave .I saw my sister two more times after that. Once to say good by and the second time in Austin, Texas where she evacuated from Katrina. She was too frail and her health not good. She did not to survive the loss
of her house and the isolation of Austin. She was a victim of Katrina . Bob and I rediscovered Venice and the rest is our history. Wearing this marigold
jacket kindles such memories ,that even if I hardly wear it, I have to keep it. It reminds me that I am the person , that Jew ,that people like David Duke are rallying against and that this marigold jacket with me in it ,was a beacon for Bob.
