Teddy had his first time at the dog park today. He did just fine. He ran around , he growled appropriately when another dog tried to get too personal. He came when I called him. I was proud of him. He also hosted a dinner
party with me this evening. After a shakey start, he was a perfect dog. He was a little hostile when our first guest came in so I put him in time out. He screamed . Now I know why a neighbor complained when I didn’t know about his screaming. I have never
heard a dog scream. I decided to hold him while my friends came in with a request that no one pet him. After everyone was here , I let him down, still asking that people ignore him. That really worked, because he was very sociable after he saw that no one
was going to harm him.The rest of the evening he stayed close to my chair ,with a few trips around the table, hoping for some food to magically fall into his mouth. He was very helpful at clean up time. I found him in the dish washer, licking those dinner
plates. All in all, a very successful first dinner party experience.
